Lash lifting: what it is and eye health care

Eyelashes, extensions, and mascara are some options for those who want to highlight their eyelashes on a daily basis or for some special occasion, but they all involve products and procedures that have not so natural results and can damage the strands. The new trend that has arrived to change this is the lash lifting.

What is lash lifting and how long does it last?

The technique treats, curves, and colors the natural eyelashes using a gel with silicone protection that lifts the lashes from the roots, as explained by Natalia Martins, founder and CEO of the Natalia Beauty Group.

The lash lifting effect lasts, on average, 45 to 60 days, if care is taken, which is to avoid using waterproof mascara and oil-based cleansers. It is also not indicated to use any type of mascara for the first days after the procedure. After that, the use of mascara (other than waterproof) is allowed.

Is Lash lifting worth it?

This depends on the effect that each person wants for the eyelashes. The lash lift does not highlight the strands as much as lengthening or false eyelashes.

According to Natalia, however, the lash lifting stimulates hair growth, hydrates and curves the strands of eyelashes. The method is a good option for those who want to lift their eyes in a more natural way.

The entrepreneur also says that the technique is as safe as eyelash extension, as long as it is carried out with all the biosecurity protocols. "But, it is fundamental to choose a qualified professional in a proper space for the procedure, otherwise it can cause irritation, infection, and damage to the natural eyelashes due to lack of hygiene and technique," she says.

How to remove

But, no procedure is needed to remove the effect of this technique, because the removal of the lash lifting happens naturally, due to the growth cycle of the eyelashes, just waiting for new strands to grow.
